Edible Art Decorative Paints by Sweet Sticks prides itself that it is a 100% edible product. All of our paint ingredients have been sourced by local, trusted Australian suppliers that work with many food products and companies around the globe.

Don’t be confused about what is edible and what isn’t. If it’s NON-TOXIC it’s NOT EDIBLE! NON-TOXIC products contain super heavy metals that are not meant for human consumption and really shouldn’t be sold alongside food products.

One of Edible Art’s paint ingredients of course is food colouring or in some cases, a combination of two or three colours to make the end product all of which start with an E. These colours are artificial colours and stand by the AU and EU standards. The US have different standards which we will state clearly on here also. The next paragraph of information about ‘E’ ingredients was taken from http://www.faia.org.uk/e-numbers/ Please visit website for more information.

E-numbers are simply the code numbers used to identify food additives that have been shown to be safe and officially approved for use in food across the EU.Blocks of numbers are allocated to specific groups of additives. For example, the colours are all in the E100 series (eg E150 caramel and E162 beetroot red); the preservatives are in the E200 series (eg E202 potassium sorbate and E211 sodium benzoate); the antioxidants are in the E300 series and so on. All of the currently EU approved food additives are listed below by additive type, E number and additive name.
